I am in high school and i have As and Bs for grades and i am not taking any honors classes. I like it a lot and try really hard in school but i am worried that i will not be smart enough for this field.|||if you find you do better in science and math than in English or history, you'll probably be ok. my sister got much better grades in HS than i did and i became the engineer eventually going on to get my MSEE, she graduated college with a degree in English and psychology and became a US Custom's agent. go figure.
engineers enjoy solving problems.
you don't have to know everything,
but you'd better know where to find the information.
does that sound like you?|||If you are carrying a B+ to A average in school, and are involved in various extra curricular activities, you are probably smart enough to get into aerospace engineering.
While grades are important, schools also look at what else you have done in high school. If they see long term commitment to improving the world or community, then they are more likely to admit you.
That said, there is sometimes an SAT cutoff level below which they will not admit you to certain fields in certain colleges.
Take your SAT test, get into the college search program, look up colleges, find their standards, and apply.
Always challenge yourself. You will not succeed in engineering unless you are in the habit of meeting challenges.
Good luck.
