How can I teach my kitten to be car smart?

I want to teach him not to get in the rode and I'm going to get him fix , so will that help for him not to be in the rode? And how can he learn to be smart of being outside? And please dont be rude. He loves to go out side , but I worry . I always wacth him everytime he's outside. Thank you. Or will he learn by himself.|||Hi there.. it's quite difficult to train a cat to become street smart because they are similar to like a very young human child who never grows up since constant supervision outdoors is impossible so that that you are sure they do not get into unsafe situations. Some cats learn to avoid cars just because these large big busy objects move fast and are loud others just don't learn until they are badly injured and are lucky enough to survive the injury to further avoid them. It's a big risk to chance to see if your kitty will learn on his own not to mention a heartbreak for you if his life is ended abruptly.

Consider leash training your kitten so he can enjoy the outdoor life while under full supervision and you can have the peace of mind knowing he's always safe and having fun exploring the outdoor excursions as well.

Leash training for cats: http://www.peoriahs.org/catleash.html|||Keep your kitten indoors or be outside with him.|||leash train him then you can keep control over him when he is outside.|||i prefer to keep my cats inside...if you are going to take him outdoors then i would put him on a leash they make them small enough for cats but remember that there are many diseases outside that your cat can catch some are lethal...if he isnt vaccinated against cat diseases i wouldnt let him out because it doesnt take much for them to catch once he gets fixed his fascination with going outside so much will lessen|||keep him inside|||Cats are safest indoors. They do wander and they do go out in the road (not rode). Please keep your kitty indoors.|||You cannot teach your cat to be road smart, no matter how hard you try, I realize that he likes to be out side, but a car will eventually hit him, and you will be heart broken. Do not let him outside. I do understand that you think you are being mean, but you also know what is best for hit. I am not trying to be mean or rude, but I am sure you do not want to come home and see him smashed in to the payment, as most cat are seen laying in the road. Therefore, every time you are driving down a road and you see a cat dead, you will know that what you are doing is not mean it is the right thing for you and your cat.|||If you are going to let him go outdoors, under supervision, train him to walk on a leash with a figure 8 harness. Definitely have him neutered. BEST BET all around though is to keep him an indoor only cat, they adjust to it.|||Look all of my cats have always been around the car and the tyres, I have always just got in and done what has to be done to get out of there and have never, ever run over the cat.
