I think my cat is smart, but my family doesn't believe me. I want to prove that he is smart. Are there any ways to see if a cat is smart?
Thanks!|||Although cats are not as amenable to training as dogs, you CAN train them. I like the idea of teaching it to use the toilet; there is, in fact, a training guide available.
A better test of a cat's intelligence, however, would be to devise tasks that require it to use reasoning to solve a simple problem. For instance, I had a cat that learned how to open a door knob (the lever-type.) At first, he stood on his hind legs, but the handle was just out of his reach. After a lot of frustrated meowing and pacing back and forth (because I refused to let him out), he suddenly jumped onto a piece of furniture that was next to the door, and which allowed him to reach over and use his weight to depress the handle!|||Take the cat out into the forest and set it free for two weeks. If the cat survives the two weeks it is smart enough and no further testing is necessary.
What we train our cats to do in the house is not a sign of any intelligence in the animal. All that shows is how adaptable the animal is.|||train them to do tricks :)
look it up on youtube, theres some tutorials that help :D|||Teach it to use the toilet like Mr. Jinx. That'll show your family.
