Smart.....?

im stereo type, but what makes middle easternm, and asians so smart is it parents that influence the stuff they do that makes them smart or..just born that way?|||In my opinion, it is their culture that makes the difference.

In the asian culture, education is very very important whereas here in America education is not (and that's sad. We are lazy in comparison!)

If I remember correctly, some countries have students go to school year round!

There are some people who are born with an acceptional mind but I don't think that is limited to just people of Asian or Middleeastern descent.|||as corrin stated, it's really a traditional and cultural thing.

I was in Japan for a couple of weeks, and they really do tend to push their children to be the absolute best that they can be. look at the technology that Japan and South Korea has come up with. Samsung, for example, is from S. Korea. Seiko- clocks, timers, and watches, and NEC- Solar Cells, computers, and Mitsubishi- who makes everything from cars to elevators, and Hyundai- from Korea, makes the (in my opinion) best cars for young drivers and retired folk.

Don't forget Nintendo!

See, Japan and Korea and even China have been pretty technologically advanced even in midieval times, when Europe was afraid of taking baths for fear it was what was making people sick, Japan and some of the Asian countries were taking Hot Baths and steam baths and were the cleanest societies ever, until the Crusades when all of that spread, like Trade spread after the Crusades.

Hope this helps, I've travelled and researched enough to know some of the history of that area, but not everything, so try doing some research in older encyclopedias about the history of all of this. I've noticed 9 times out of 10 that Encyclopedias have more ensightful information than the Internet, because the internet can be changed all the time.|||Like Corrin stated, it's cultural differences. In Asian cultures specifically, having an education is EXTREMELY important. In fact it's a status symbol.

Here in the US we don't value education nearly as much, and therefore what's normal in their culture (going to school 12 hours a day, 6 days a week) is considered "smart."|||there' a girl i used to know from south korea. she said in south korea, she went to school 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, all year long. she got 4 hours of sleep a night, and spent the majority of her remaining time studying. she also said on her 1 day off per week, she would always be participating in educational programs and activities outside of school. does that answer your question? :-)|||It is a different work ethic that they have. These children are raised with respect for their parents and those parents are telling them to study and study hard and to make them proud and they do.... They will be running this world you will see.|||it's their tradition and how they were raised to do everything to the best and then some
